TKIDS Application Setup Help

To setup a PC to use the TKIDS Web Application, you will need the following:

Requirements:
1. PC with Windows 95, 98, or Windows NT Operating System. Internet Explorer under XP will require that you login using the following syntax TDPRS\Username, this needs to be typed into the Username field in the login box.
2. Basic familiarity with the PC Operating System (Starting programs, Using Windows Explorer, Running Setup Executables)
3. A functional standard internet connection with Web access.
5. Internet Explorer 5.5 or above installed.

SECTION 1: Logging on to the DFPS Extranet Web Server

Open your web browser and point it to the following URL (web location)

https://extranet.dfps.state.tx.us

(the s in https is required).

A Logon dialog box will appear. This is to logon to the DFPS Extranet Web Server.
Use the Logon that was assigned to you by DFPS IT Security.
NOTE: Passwords are case sensitive

Click 'OK'
You should now be authenticated to the TKIDS Applications web, you should now see the applications you have access to.

SECTION 2: For Organizations with Firewalls
Make sure the following Address, IPs, Ports can pass through the firewall.
Here are the connection points.:
  1. https://extranet.dfps.state.tx.us
    (on port 80)
  2. This will link to ip address 168.38.108.39 (Another IP address that may be used in the future will be 168.38.151.140 on port 80 and 8080).
  3. The Firewall must support SOCKET connections.
  4. The port 8020 must be accessible to access the application server.
  5. Then finally, the SSL Port 443 will also need to be allowed, password changes are secured with SSL.
